Data we handle

When you start a trip after granting location permission, Afterdrive records precise route coordinates, timestamps, speed, course, altitude, and accuracy. Recording continues in the background or while your iPhone is locked until you finish or cancel the trip. It derives distance, movement, stop, speed, elevation, and endpoint information from those samples. Granting permission by itself does not start a location stream.

Saved trips contain an app-generated identifier, start and end times, route data, derived place names, trip statistics, and stop information. Afterdrive also stores local recording preferences, an iCloud-backup flag, a completed-trip count, and the last review-prompt date.

The developer does not receive trip or location information. Afterdrive has no developer trip server, and any private iCloud copy remains in your Apple Account.

If you email support or privacy, Necati Furkan Koçlu receives your email address, message, any attachment you choose to add, and an iOS version if you include it. Please do not send sensitive trip or location information.

When you visit an Afterdrive webpage, Cloudflare processes ordinary request information such as your IP address, the requested page, traffic-routing and system information, and response or security information so it can deliver and protect the static site.

How we use data

Afterdrive uses trip information to record a drive, calculate and display statistics, update the on-device Live Activity, name saved trip endpoints, show route maps, create local thumbnails, and prepare an optional share image.

Local preferences configure recording filters. Local lifecycle counters decide when iOS may be asked to show its review prompt. They are not sent to the developer.

Support and privacy correspondence is received only when you choose to email. The developer uses it to understand and answer your request, protect the support channel, and meet legal obligations where applicable. This processing is necessary to respond to your request and for the legitimate interests of providing and protecting support, provided those interests do not override your rights and freedoms.

Website request information is received automatically when your browser requests a page. The developer relies on the legitimate interests of delivering, caching, operating, and securing the requested static pages, provided those interests do not override your rights and freedoms.

Storage and services

In-progress route samples are written to a working file inside the app container. Completed trips are stored with SwiftData on your device. Persistent route thumbnails may be stored in the app cache; a one-time share-card snapshot is rendered without intentional persistence.

A new installation starts with local storage on its first launch. On later eligible launches, Afterdrive attempts to synchronize its SwiftData store through your private iCloud database by default; if iCloud is unavailable, it falls back to local storage. Apple states that private-database content belongs to the user, is accessible only by that user by default, and is not visible in the developer portal.

Apple Maps may process route coordinates or surrounding map regions when Afterdrive displays a live or saved route map. It also processes saved-trip coordinates when Afterdrive requests place names or creates map snapshots. Apple operates Apple Maps and CloudKit under its own privacy information.

Google provides the Gmail mailbox used for support and privacy messages. Cloudflare Pages hosts the static Afterdrive website. Google and Cloudflare operate systems in multiple countries, including the United States, so support messages and website request information may be processed outside your country. These providers also process information under their own policies.

Sharing

Apple Maps may process route coordinates when Afterdrive displays live or saved route maps, and saved-trip coordinates for place names and route snapshots. On eligible launches, Apple CloudKit may process saved trip records to synchronize them with your private iCloud database.

Afterdrive does not automatically upload a trip export to the developer. If you tap Share, iOS sends the rendered summary only to the person, app, or service you select. That destination controls its own copy.

Email correspondence is processed by the sender's provider, Gmail, and Necati Furkan Koçlu. Website request information is processed by Cloudflare and may be available as Customer Logs or aggregate service metrics in the publisher's Cloudflare account.

No developer backend, advertising, analytics, attribution, data-broker, or cross-app tracking integration exists in the reviewed app.

Service providers that process personal information on the developer's behalf are required to protect it to the same or an equivalent level as this policy and applicable law require. If a provider cannot meet that standard, the developer will stop that use or put an appropriate safeguard in place before continuing.

Retention and deletion

A saved trip remains until you delete it from History. Finishing or cancelling a trip removes its working route log. If the app is interrupted, an unfinished log remains until Afterdrive offers recovery or discard on a later launch.

When private iCloud synchronization is active, a trip deletion is intended to synchronize through that store. Afterdrive does not promise immediate completion across iCloud and every device.

Deleting a trip removes its trip record but does not explicitly remove its cached route thumbnail. A thumbnail may remain until iOS purges the app cache or you remove the app; Afterdrive has no fixed cache expiry or dedicated cache-clear control. Recording preferences remain until changed or reset. Other local lifecycle values remain until overwritten or the app's local data is removed.

Only Necati Furkan Koçlu accesses the support mailbox, and messages are not forwarded. Routine correspondence is deleted within 12 months after the request is resolved. A valid deletion request is handled sooner unless retention is legally required. Gmail keeps deleted messages in Trash for up to 30 days and applies its own backend deletion and exception rules.

Cloudflare controls service-level retention for website request information. Its published criteria include the processing purpose, the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the information, risk, whether less data can achieve the purpose, and legal or contractual requirements. Cloudflare says it deletes or destroys data when the applicable period expires, subject to technical safeguards. The reviewed static site and deployment configuration create no separate request-log copy.

Your choices and controls

You can deny or revoke location access in iOS Settings. Without location access, Afterdrive cannot record routes. Location recording starts only after you choose Start Trip.

You decide when to start, pause, resume, finish, or cancel a trip. Pausing keeps the location session available but discards new route samples until you resume; finishing or cancelling ends the session. You can delete individual trips from History and reset recording preferences from Settings.

Afterdrive has no in-app iCloud switch. You can review or change its iCloud access in Settings > Apple Account > iCloud, and Apple provides controls to view storage and delete third-party app data from iCloud.

Sharing is optional and requires choosing a destination in the iOS share sheet. Support or privacy email is optional, and you control what you send. Leaving the website stops further page requests.

Depending on applicable law, you may ask whether the developer processes information about you; obtain details about its purposes, use, and recipients in your country or abroad; request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or notification of corrections or deletions to recipients; object to certain uses or a result produced solely through automated analysis; complain to a competent data protection authority; and seek compensation or another remedy where available. To make a request concerning information received by the developer, email necatifk08@gmail.com. A request may require identity verification.

Children

Afterdrive is a general-audience utility. It is not designed or marketed specifically for children and is not listed in Apple's Kids Category. The app does not ask for age or create an Afterdrive account, and trip data is not sent to the developer.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child sent personal information in a support message, email necatifk08@gmail.com to request its deletion.

Changes to this policy

This policy will be updated when Afterdrive's data practices or service providers materially change. The version and effective date identify the text in effect. A policy update does not replace any separate notice or consent that applicable law may require for a new use of personal data.
